my birthday cake

My bf is a great cook, but not so much of a baker... Lols

I'm supposed to post this on my birthday but I guess I was lazy to upload the photos...
On 6th Jan, 10pm, me and the bf went to buy ingredients for baking a cake. *points all fingers at him* He said he want to bake me a birthday cake. He wanted to bake a chocolate cake and not heeding my advice, decided to choose a difficult recipe which involves ingredients I've never known existed, so we just substitute them with another...

After fooling around with the batter, it's finally in the oven and looking good...

Then after 30 mins, the cake isn't fully baked yet because fork goes into the middle of "cake" comes out wet, so he decided to bake it for another 10mins, another 10mins, another 10mins...
And horror! This is how it looks like after 1 hr...

All cracked at the top, A big NONO...

Anyway, we baked the cake for almost 2 hours and it's still kind of undercooked inside but I've decided to rescue it from the oven. It's going to turn to rock if I don't! So we nibbled at the cake!

And this is how it looks like with the chocolate whip cream all over it...
A bit disgusting I know, but it was already like 1am and we were too tired to do things properly...

Missing chunks of the cake in our stomach and digested!


The remaining was thrown away... And the VERDICT!
(HAHA, BF! my turn to give u points for the cake u baked!)

Aesthetic Quality: -5/5 (Negative 5 ok!)
Taste: 3/5 (Not too bad if its not undercooked and soooo sweet, like too much sugar sweet, not the lovey dovey kind of sweet)
Effort: 5/5!! (Really touched by the effort put in and trying to buy candles for me to blow off..)

Comments: Baking is not for you, please just stick to cooking... LOLS!

Disclaimer: Er-Erm, As you can see how badly the cake turned out, I want to clarify that I did not really participate in this baking. If I did, the cake would have been 90% better. Er-Erm..
